The Bald Eagles lived up to their billing, defeating the Griffins by an 18-5 margin. All five of the Scarlet and Gold's five goals came unassisted as senior midfielder
Jacklyn O'Leary (East Meadow, N.Y.) scored twice and junior midfielder
Erica McLaughlin (Magnolia, N.J.) scored once without help, before sophomore midfielder

Spencer Fitzgerald (Huntingtown, Md.) each recorded late second-half free position goals.
Lock Haven University (1-0) was comfortable on their home field, establishing an 8-0 advantage before Chestnut Hill College (0-4) closed the opening half with back-to-back goals from O'Leary (8-1 at 13:37) and McLaughlin (8-2 at 9:09). Unfortunately for the Griffins, the Bald Eagles returned to forefront at the start of the second half. The home team scored the first eight goals of the latter period, extending their advantage to 14 goals, 16-2, before the 15-minute mark (15:08). Free position goals from Reinert, 16-3 at 10:45, and Fitzgerald, 16-4 at 9:15, interrupted the streak, but did not conclude the scoring as Lock Haven University bookended the Griffins' last tally; O'Leary's second, which came with 5:18 remaining in the contest.
Senior attack Rachel Engler (Perkiomenville, Pa.) totaled seven points for the Bald Eagles with a team-high six goals and an assist, but she did not led Lock Haven University in scoring as fellow senior attack Shannon Bissnette (Pittsford, N.Y.) finished the contest with four goals and four assists. Junior midfielder Alex O'Herrick (Barto, Pa.) controlled the center circle with 11 draw controls and a ground ball in excess of her three points (a goal and two assists), a ground ball, and two caused turnovers. In goal, senior Hannah Houde (Jackson, N.J.) (1-0) played a majority of the minutes (49:45) and made all four of the Bald Eagle saves.
