New Haven, Conn. - (4/24/2017) – Appearing in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship Tournament for consecutive seasons, #4 Chestnut Hill College will serve as host to #5 Caldwell University in a quarterfinal contest tomorrow, Tuesday, April 25. Opening draw at Victory Field #1 is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. In additional CACC Quarterfinal play, #3 Philadelphia University will host #6 Wilmington University in a 3:30 p.m. contest. CACC Regular Season Champion #1 Georgian Court University and #2 Dominican College receive an automatic bye to the CACC Semifinals, which are scheduled to take place at Georgian Court University on Saturday, April 29.

The Scarlet and Gold snapped a 0-5 start with an 18-8 CACC victory over Holy Family University on March 20. Tough competition followed in #15 New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) and Georgian Court University, who delayed the Chestnut Hill College success another week. A four-game CACC win streak that included victories over Felician University (W, 24-2 on April 1), Wilmington University (W, 22-6 on April 4), Caldwell University (W, 17-7 on April 6), and Post University (W, 25-5 on April 8) turned the season around. Unfortunately, the Griffins only other win (21-9) came in the regular season finale at Nyack College on April 22. Chestnut Hill College served as the #2 seed in the 2016 CACC Women's Lacrosse Championship Tournament.
All-CACC Second Team selection, senior attack
Jacklyn O'Leary (East Meadow, N.Y.) was one of several Griffins who contributed to Chestnut Hill College's 6-3 CACC finish; 6-10 overall. In her first season at team co-captain, O'Leary was a two-time CACC Weekly Honor Roll mention (3/27, 3/14) and ranked among the league's top-20 in points (45, T16th) and free position goals (13-for-25, .520, T7th). Julia Galantich (Clinton Corners, N.Y.) was the highest of four forty-point scorers, leading the group with 24 goals and 25 assists (49 points). She also shared the team lead in ground balls (31). Also in that class was senior attack
Samantha Herron (Cinnaminson, N.J.), who led the CACC in assists with her 37 helpers and ranked in sixth (55) in the league for draw controls. Senior goalkeeper
Katie Joe Lang (Manassas, Va.) offered a 6-8 record on a 12.54 goals-against-average (GAA), 124 saves, and a .400 save percentage. She set the program's all-time record for career saves (Stephanie Jordan '09, 544, currently 568) in a 15-9 loss to Philadelphia University on Tuesday, April 18.
