th win, 4-2, of the season. In game two, the Bears grabbed an early 5-0 lead before overcoming the Griffins' three-run rally with a seven-run eighth inning. Senior shortstop
Corie Apodaca (Ontario, Calif.) knocked in two of those runs with a fifth-inning home run to right center; her first of the season.
Chestnut Hill College (14-26, 12-12) scored their first run of game two in the fourth inning with a lead-off dibbler in front of the plate from sophomore third baseman
Lily Winn (Los Angeles, Calif.), a one-out walk to sophomore left fielder
Marissa Maioran (Rockaway, N.J.), an error on the mound, and a sacrifice fly from sophomore second baseman
Alex Sauer (New Milford, N.J.). A lead-off single to centerfield from senior first baseman
Jenna Long (North Wildwood, N.J.) got the Griffins going in the fifth. Apodaca homered a batter later.
Game one was closer, but Holloway was in control the whole time. Her first run support came in the third inning, where a lead-off walk to Long, a single through the right side sophomore right fielder
Ariel Magee (North Cape May, N.J.), and an Apodaca double to centerfield. The other three were added in the sixth inning. There, a one-out Sauer single to second base, a double to left center from junior designated
Jessica Pulis (Baldwin, N.Y.), a tough at-bat from Long, and a Magee double down the left field line brought home two runs.
Chestnut Hill College completes both their CACC and regular season schedule tomorrow, Saturday, April 28, with a 12:00 p.m. Senior Day doubleheader against Felician University.
