Box Score Philadelphia, Pa. - (9/19/2017) – Chestnut Hill College recorded a season-best .223 (40K-15E-112TA) team hitting percentage in this evening's 3-0 (25-22, 25-22, 25-15) Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) victory at the University of the Sciences (USciences). The combination of sophomore outside hitter Reily Byxbee (Madison, Conn.) and junior setter Kennedy Sutton (Chesapeake, Va.) worked well for the Scarlet and Gold as the former crushed 11 kills and the latter lofted 32 assists in the Griffins first league win.

Chestnut Hill College (2-10, 1-1) used a late rushes to win the first two sets by 25-22 spreads. In the opener, the Griffins paced USciences (2-3, 1-1) to a 10-10 lead before reuniting with the Devils at 20-20 on a Byxbee kill. The Scarlet and Gold defense took it from there as USciences committed several miscues in the concluding stretch, 25-22. The second set saw Chestnut Hill College establish a 13-9 lead before a late Devil rush brought the spread even at 22-22. Sutton served the closing points this time, setting up Byxbee for a kill before a pair of poor Devil sets did the home team in, 25-22. Executing at a .324 (16K-4E-37TA) hitting percentage, the Griffins denied the Devils any hope of a comeback in the third set. USciences' first timeout came after a kill from senior right side Samantha Gelfan (Chandler, Ariz.) gave the Griffins their 17th point (17-10) of the frame. Their second timeout came after a Byxbee kill distanced Chestnut Hill College by 11 points, 23-12. Senior libero Peyton Reno (Wilmington, Del.) sealed the deal with her second ace of the evening, 25-15.

Junior outside hitter Dakota Raymond (Chadds Ford, Pa.) led the Devils with a team-high 10 kills on an efficient .346 (10K-1E-26TA) hitting percentage. She also recorded three assists and 11 digs.
