Box Score Philadelphia, Pa. - (9/30/2017) – Chestnut Hill College welcomed the Scarlet and Gold faithful and Nyack College to the Campus Field for this afternoon's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest that also served as the Griffins' Red Card Cancer event and annual Senior Day celebration. Sophomore midfielder
Geena DiRugeris (Woodbury, N.J.) evened the affair before halftime (39:37), 1-1, but a late second half restart gave the Warriors the win, 2-1 (81:29).
Taking advantage of a 20-5 first half shot advantage, Nyack College (1-10, 1-5) gained control on a Chestnut Hill College (1-8, 1-5) turnover that freshman defender Anna-Maria Vandyk (British Columbia, Canada) intercepted at midfield and carried down the right side before making a successful strike, 1-0 (37:26). But the Griffins gave a quick response as DiRugeris dropped a 40-yard restart over the heads of both rosters for the game-tying-goal at 39:37, 1-1. As the second half wore on, Nyack College's shot advantage put the pressure on Chestnut Hill College. But an unexpected event occurred at 81:29, when sophomore defender Avery Chance (Millville, N.J.) managed to score a restart from beyond midfield, 2-1.
Sophomore freshman Zoe Mould (Mobile, Al.) led Nyack College with seven shots. Freshman Greta Enloe (Leavenworth, Wash.) added seven saves in the win (1-10).

Senior midfielder
Julianna Casasanto (Philadelphia, Pa.) was the target of the Griffins' forward attempts. She led the team with three shots, while DiRugeris, junior midfielder
Molly Sullivan (Pasco, Wash.), and junior midfielder
Ariel Magee (North Cape May, N.J.) were the other Chestnut Hill College players to record multiple strikes. Senior goalkeeper
Meghan Guagenti (Pennsauken, N.J.) made eight saves in the loss (1-4).
Prior to the start of the contest, Chestnut Hill College honored its five-member Class of 2017, which included Casasanto, Guagenti, defender
Kylee Jazikoff (Brick, N.J.), midfielder
Kierston Cobb-Wilkins (Lowman, N.Y.), and forward
Morgan Ruth (Blackwood, N.J.). Donations for Red Card Cancer were collected throughout the CACC soccer doubleheader and totaled $650 in total by day's end.
