Chestnut Hill College (3-13, 2-4) trailed Concordia College (0-7, 0-6) to a 12-12 tie in the opening set. Following the break, the Griffins paced the Clippers to a competitive conclusion; the frame was tied as late at 24-24, with clutch kills from freshman outside hitter

Ashley Petroski (Suffolk, Va.) providing the finishing touches on a 26-24 Scarlet and Gold win, 1-0. After surrendering the first point of the second set, 1-0, the Griffins separated by as many as nine points, 17-8, before capturing a 25-16 win, 2-0. Chestnut Hill College hit .469 (16K-1E-32TA) and recorded a 75.0% side-out effort in the frame. The third set was similar as the Griffins took a 20-10 advantage before concluding the match on a 25-19 final, 3-0.
Sophomore outside hitter Thalia Hoyos (Caguas, Puerto Rico) was the Clippers' top performer with 12 kills, an assist, and four digs. Sophomore right side Tatienne Tugade-Sua (Kalihi, Hawaii) joined her in double digit points with nine kills and an ace in excess of nine digs. Senior setter Jenny Martin (Simi Valley, Calif.) offered four kills, 22 assists, and five digs, while senior libero Celine Arada (San Francisco, Calif.) hustled to 20 dogs.

Kennedy Sutton (Chesapeake, Va.) was the playmaker in the Griffins' powerful performance; in addition to 35 assists, she recorded three kills, two aces, four digs, and three blocks (3 assists). Kalala was the third Chestnut Hill College hitter to record at least 10 points, she finished the affair with nine kills and three blocks (3 assists). Byxbee added two assists, an assist, and 10 digs to her kills.
The Chestnut Hill College women's volleyball team returns to Sorgenti Arena on Tuesday, October 3, when they host CACC rival, Jefferson University in a 7:00 p.m. Faculty Appreciaition Night affair.
