Box Score West Chester, Pa. – (3/29/2018) – Sophomore second baseman Ameir Uzzell (Levittown, Pa.) homered on the very first pitch of the afternoon, but West Chester University scored seven runs in their first three at-bats before retiring the Chestnut Hill College by a 13-3 margin. Senior shortstop Alec Craig (Hammonton, N.J.) and junior left fielder Eric Small (Downingtown, Pa.) recorded two hits apiece.

After Uzzell's leadoff home run, 1-0, Craig singled with one out and stole second base before ending the inning as the victim of a fielder's choice. West Chester University (12-6) responded with four runs in the bottom of the first inning, 4-1. The Golden Rams added three runs in the second inning, 7-1, and two runs in the third inning, 9-1, prior to Chestnut Hill College (5-9) scoring a pair of runs in the fifth inning. There, back-to-back hit batsman, a wild pitch, and a walk gave the Griffins a perfect opportunity. They capitalized with freshman catcher Sam Barletta (Royersford, Pa.) drawing a bases loaded walk, 9-2, and senior center fielder Demetrius Isaac (Philadelphia, Pa.) hustling home on a 6-4-3 double play, 9-3. The Golden Rams were able to bring the frame to a close on a grounder to third base, then scored two runs in the sixth inning, 11-3, and two runs in the eighth inning, 13-3, to put the game well out of reach.

The Chestnut Hill College baseball team returns to their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) schedule on Saturday, March 31, when they open Latshaw-McCarthy Field with an 11:00 a.m. first-pitch.
