Lakewood, N.J. - (5/5/2019) – The Chestnut Hill College men's track and field team traveled to Georgian Court University on Sunday, May 5, for the 2019 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's and Women's Track and Field Championships and the conclusion of the 2019 CACC Spring Championship Festival. There, the Griffins placed seventh in a 12-team field with 29 points.
Junior
Zigmund Fisher (Chadds Ford, Pa.) contributed to a dozen (12) of those points with his fifth place effort (4:11.51) in the 1,500-Meter and his all-conference finish (2
nd, 15:27.04) in the 5,000-Meter. The Scarlet and Gold also scored points with an all-league performance junior
Aaron Morris (Philadelphia, Pa.) in the 800-Meter (2
nd, 1:56.66), a sixth place finish (3:36.02) in the 4x400-Meter Relay, and the field efforts of senior
Alex Nicolas (Langhorne, Pa.), freshman
Donoven Griffin (?) and freshman
Vlad Venerio (Pennsauken, N.J.).

Nicolas gave Chestnut Hill College a point with his eighth place (24.95 meters) throw in the Hammer. He also placed 15
th in the Shot Put with a toss of 9.01 meters. Griffin and Venerio scored their points in the Javelin, where they respectively placed fifth (41.55) and eighth (35.29); Griffin's throw set a program record in the event. Freshman
Charlie Verna (?) and senior
Tayib Inniss (Philadelphia, Pa.) represented the Scarlet and Gold in the Long Jump; the former finished ninth with a leap of 6.20 meters and the latter finished 14
th with a bound of 5.88 meters.
Fisher and Morris garnered All-CACC honors with their respective second place finishes in the 5,000-Meter (15:27.04) and the 800-Meter (1:56.66). In addition to his all-league run, Morris also joined senior
Raevon Floyd-Bennett (Union City, N.J.), Verna, and sophomore
Matthew Williams (Somers Point, N.J.) for a sixth place finish (3:36.02, 3 points) in the 4x400-Meter. Fisher was joined in the 5,000-Meter by fellow junior
Alex Lynch (Manchester, N.J.), who placed 18
th (18:30.35). Chestnut Hill College also competed in the 100-Meter and 400-Meter as Williams and freshman
Dan Gavin (Havertown, Pa.) respectively finished 26
th (11.84) and 23
rd (58.26) in those events.
