From Punxsy to Philly: Miller Talks Basketball Career and Journey to Chestnut Hill

Punxsutawney, Pa. - (1/26/2021) – Chestnut Hill College junior Leah Miller (Punxsutawney, Pa.) – a native of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania – was recently the subject of a ExploreJeffersonPA.com feature that followed her life's journey through basketball; From Punxsy to Philly: Miller Talks Basketball Career and Journey to Chestnut Hill. Miller anchored Chestnut Hill College's 2019-2020 opening slate with three consecutive double-doubles in a 1-2 start that included a November-10, 64-54 victory over Queens College. She finished that Leah Millerseason averaging 11.0 points per game (PPG) and 8.6 rebounds per game (RPG) with 30 blocks, 26 assists, and 19 steals; Miller has totaled 479 points in two seasons with the Scarlet and Gold.

In their first season under first-year Head Coach Jim Connolly, Chestnut Hill College made their fourth Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Basketball Championship Tournament appearance in the last five seasons. An 11-18 overall record and a 10-9 league mark earned the Griffins the #4 seed in the CACC South Division and a quarterfinal matchup at #1N Post University (L, 37-51 on March 3). Junior guard Cassie Sebold (Willow Grove, Pa.) garnered All-CACC Second Team honors with team-highs in points (385), PPG (13.3/game), and assists (145, 5.0/game). She received plenty of help from a deep sophomore class that carried a bulk of the work in a 9-woman rotation; her backcourt partner guard Lauren Crim (Warrington, Pa.) averaged 13.1 PPG with an exceptional shooting season (118-of-313, .377 FG%|83-of-213, .390 3PT%|62-of-68, .912 FT%), while Miller patrolled the paint with eight double-doubles and some stout defense; her 30 blocks ranked her 5th in the CACC.
