New Haven, Conn. - (4/23/2021) – The Semifinal Round of the 2021 Spring Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Tennis Championship Tournament begins today, Friday, April 23. With a 4-3 league record, Chestnut Hill College (4-5, 4-3) serves as the #2 seed in the four-team field that also includes #1 Concordia College (NY) (6-0, 5-0), #3 the University of the Sciences (USciences) (5-3, 5-3) and #4 Thomas Jefferson University (Jefferson) (6-5, 2-5). The #1 Clippers will host #4 Jefferson in a 2:00 p.m. semifinal match, while the #2 Griffins welcome #3 USciences to the campus courts for a 2:30 p.m. championship play-in.
Chestnut Hill College and USciences split their two regular-season meetings with the Devils as USciences took the initial March-17, league match by a 4-3 final and the Griffins got revenge with a 4-3 league-victory on April 12. Both matches were played at Chestnut Hill College.
CACC play began on Wednesday, March 17, for Chestnut Hill College and USciences. The Devils took the advantage with the doubles point, 1-0, and broke away from a 2-2 stalemate with match-winning victories at number six (6-4, 6-4) and number four (3-6, 6-3, 6-2) singles. Freshman

Nele Haag (Tauberbischofsheim, Germany), and respectively recorded the Griffins singles points in the third (6-3, 6-1), first (6-2, 6-3), and second (7-5, 7-6 (7-4)) singles flights.
After taking the doubles point with victories in the second (6-3) and first (6-4) flights,
Chestnut Hill College followed through on their April-12, CACC victory over USciences with a 6-2, 2-6, 6-3, number-two singles from Haag. Garica Arguelles and Wise also recorded singles points, respectively winning the first (7-5, 6-3) and third (4-6, 6-3, 6-2) individual flights.
