Cutting and Pitchley Earn ITA Regional Rankings

Chestnut Hill College Men's Tennis players Noah Cutting and Tom Pitchley are the top Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference men's tennis doubles team to be ranked in the first Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) East Region doubles rankings of the season released on Thursday.

Cutting and Pitchley were ranked eighth among the region's doubles teams.  In addition both players earned top 20 rankings in singles with Cutting ranked 12th and Pitchley ranked 14th.

The two seniors compiled a 4-1 overall doubles record during the fall season, including a 3-0 mark in dual match action.  Cutting and Pitchley's only loss came at the ITA East Region Championship to Mariano Bibiloni and Lucas Demuth of Queens College  6-0, 2-6, 1-0 (15-13) in the round of 16.   Bibiloni and Demuth received a #5 ranking in the just released rankings.

In singles play, Cutting went 5-2 in the fall with his only losses coming against two players ranked above him.  He lost to #6 Kareem Rashad of Queens College in the round of 16 at the ITA East Regionals and later to #11 German Lopez of Central Atlantic Collegiate conference rival Jefferson University in a dual match in October.

Pitchley went 4-2 in the fall, losing only to Hubert Theriault of Jefferson in a tiebreaker at the October dual match between the two teams and Cameron Henricy of Queens at the ITA's.  Theriault was ranked #13 in the region on the ITA list while Henricy was ranked #2 in the region.

The Chestnut Hill men's tennis team resumes action in February hosting division I Loyola university (Maryland) on February 25, 2023.
