Chestnut Hill College Women's Basketball Head Coach Jim Connolly has been named NCAA DII Coach of the Week by WHoopDirt.com, presented by Capital Elite Agency.

Connolly is the first head coach from a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference school to earn this honor in the three year existence of the program.

Coaches who receive this honor are now eligible to receive the WHoopDirt.com National Coach of the Year Award presented by Capital Elite Agency which will be announced at the conclusion of the 2021-22 college basketball season.

Connolly has led his team to a 22-4 overall record and a 15-1 mark in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference games, setting a program record for wins in a season and doubling the team's win total from 2019-20, the last season the team played (2020-21 was cancelled due to COVID).  Chestnut Hill sits atop the CACC South Division with the best conference record in the league with two more conference games left to play.  The Griffins have won 16 of their last 17 games.
 
Coach Connolly led Chestnut Hill to another pair of impressive victories this week, as the Griffins continue towards securing the top seed in the CACC Championship Tournament. The Griffins picked up a huge 65-60 road win over Jefferson last Tuesday, sweeping the season series for the first time in program history and clinching a home playoff game in the process.  Returning to the floor on Saturday, the Griffins held Wilmington to just three points in the third quarter of a 69-46 triumph..
 
Chestnut Hill will host Georgian Court University on Wednesday in their last regular season home game of the year. Tipoff is set for 6:00 p.m.
