Jason Chedester extended his own school record in the javelin throw as the Chestnut Hill College Men's Track and Field Team recorded nine top 20 finishes at the East Stroudsburg University all American Meet on Saturday.
On his third throw in the event, Chedester tossed the javelin 42.08 meters (138'1") extending his own record by .17 meters or seven inches. His throw placed him seventh overall and ranks ninth among qualifiers for the Central Atlantic collegiate Conference championship
Chedester also placed 20
th in the shot put competition with a toss of 11.07 meters (36'4"). Teammate
Elijah Fogg was 19
th overall with a toss of 11.19 meters (36' 8 ½")
On the track,
Chris Nelson improved upon his CACC qualifying time in the 5,000 meters with a fifth place finish and a time of 16:01.69, a collegiate personal best mark for the freshman runner. Teammates
Cole Stanchina and
Jason Fisher also finished in the top 20 placing 13
th and 15
th respectively. Stanchina finished in 16:54.36 while Fisher ran a collegiate personal best time of 16:59.39.
Moving down to the sprints,
Brandon Moye and
Tyheem Bailey recorded collegiate personal bests in the 100 meter dash with Moye finishing in 13
th place with a time of 11.40 seconds and Bailey in 16
th place with a time of 11.51 seconds and qualifying for the CACC championship meet in the process.
Bailey also placed 17
th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.83 seconds.
Rounding out the personal best performances was Fogg in the discus throw with a toss of 24.27 meters (79'7").
The Chestnut Hill College Men's Track and Field team will compete at the Paul Kieser Classic hosted by Shippensburg University on April 30, 2022. This will be their final tune-up before the CACC Championship meet.
