Three members of the Chestnut Hill College women's Cross country team were among the top 25 finishers overall at the Griffins raced to a third place team finish at the Jack St. Clair Invitational at Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia Saturday afternoon.
The Griffins finished with 98 points, 37 behind fellow Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference team Jefferson University who scored 61 points.   The race, which also featured area track clubs competing alongside the Collegiate Runners was dominated by members of the Liberty Track Club. The track club runners took the first eight spots and finished with 15 points.
Sydney Watts was the second collegiate runner to finish and placed 13
th overall with a time of 25:39.1 for the 6,000 meter race. Not far behind Watts was
Gabby Hassler who placed 18
th overall and was the seventh collegiate runner to cross the finish line. Hassler finished the 6K race in 26:05.9.
Aubrey Elias followed in 21
st place overall and was the ninth fastest collegian in the race with a time of 26:36.7.
Rounding out the Griffins' finishers were
Rebecca Dalton and
Deanna Otero.  Dalton was 29
th overall with a time of 28:30.3 while Otero produced her fastest 6K time of the season, completing the course in 35:39.0.
The Chestnut Hill College Women's Cross Country team returns to action on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 when they will compete at the Cairn University meet in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. The women's race begins at 3:00 p.m.
