The Chestnut Hill College Women's Cross Country season came to a close Saturday afternoon with two runners competing at the NCAA Division II East Region Championships at the Hopkinton Fairgrounds in Hopkinton, New Hampshire.
Senior
Aubrey Elias was competing in her third NCAA East Region Championship while sophomore
Gabby Hassler was running in her second.
Elias finished the 6,000-meter race in 25:01.0, placing 63
rd overall. Her time was the fourth fastest time ever run by a Griffin athlete at an NCAA Regional meet. Raquel Lopez has the fastest time by a Griffin at the NCAA Regionals, running the 6K race in 24:41.50 back in 2015 on the same Hopkinton course.
Hassler finished in 26:03.9, placing 79
th overall  out of 117 finishers.
With the season now concluded the Griffin cross country runners will now turn their focus to the upcoming track and field season.
