Chmiel Named to the CACC Women's Basketball All-Conference Team

Chestnut Hill College Women's Basketball player Emily Chmiel has been named to the 2022-23 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference All- Conference Team in an announcement made by CACC Commissioner Dan Mara.  The CACC All-Conference teams are voted on by the league's 13 women's basketball coaches.  Chmiel was selected as a Third Team honoree.

This year's selection marks the second consecutive year that the sophomore Chmiel has earned an all-CACC nod.  In 2021-22, Chmiel was named a Second Team honoree and also garnered the CACC Rookie of the Year honors.

Chmiel led the team in scoring this season, averaging 11.1 points per game while playing in 28 of the team's 29 contests.  In addition, she led the team in field goal percentage (51.3%), free throw percentage (80%), rebounding (6.5/gm.) and blocked shots (29).

Heading into the CACC playoffs on Tuesday, Chmiel had recorded double-doubles in her last five games, averaging 18.4 points and 11.6 rebounds per game over that span.  Chmiel led the team with six double-doubles on the season.

The sophomore post player was named to the CACC Weekly Honor Roll seven times this season and finished the regular season ranked sixth in the conference in field goal percentage, seventh in blocks and free throw percentage and ninth in total rebounds (181).

The Griffins finished the season with a 19-10 overall record and a first round loss in the CACC playoffs.
