Cole Stanchina became the latest member of the Chestnut Hill College Track and field team to qualify for the Central Atlantic collegiate conference Championship meet as he competed in the 10,000 meter race at the Silfen Invitational, hosted by Connecticut College on Friday.

Stanchina was the Griffins' lone competitor at the meet.
Competing in his first ever 10,000-meter run on a track, Stanchina completed the 10K race in 34:18.64 placing 24^th overall.  The sophomore distance specialist's time was well under the CACC qualifying standard of 37:24.09 and ranks tenth on the CACC performance list for 10,000 meters this season.  

In addition, Stanchina's time is the third fastest 10,000-meter run time in program history behind record holder Ziggy Fisher's times of 32:10.63 and 33:08.68.

Stanchina and the entire men's track and field team will be back in action next Saturday as they compete at the Moravian Invitational in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
