Fogg Breaks Shot Put Record as Griffins Compete at Coach Pollard Invitational

CHC's 4x100 relay team extends their own school record

Elijah Fogg became the latest Chestnut Hill College Men's Track and field athlete to set a school record when he broke the program's mark for the shot put Friday evening at the Coach Pollard Invitational Meet at Moravian college in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

In addition to Fogg's record, the Griffins had five additional personal-best performances, seven top 15 finishes and the Griffins' 4x100-meter relay team extended their own school record on Saturday.   The Griffins scored 17 points to finish in 13th place among the 20+ teams competing.

Fogg tossed the shot 11.76 meters (38'7") on his second throw, breaking teammate Jason Chedester's mark of 11.69 meters set at last year's Central Atlantic collegiate conference championships.  His throw placed him 25th overall amongst strong competition at the event. The senior thrower also set a personal best mark in the discus throw with a toss of 26.03 meters (85'5")

Chestnut Hill's 4x100 meter relay team of Brandon Moye, Tyrease Harris, Tyheem Bailey and Pierson Dyson raced to a third-place finish in 43.29 seconds, extending their own school record in the event by .14 seconds.  Individually, Moye and Bailey also set personal-best times in the 100-meter dash with Bailey narrowly missing out on qualifying for the finals with a time of 11.12 seconds to place ninth overall.  Moye was 12th with a time of 11.24 seconds.  Dyson won his heat with a time of 11.26 seconds and qualified for the finals, finishing sixth in the finals race with a time of 11.24 seconds.

In the hurdles, Elijah Williams set a personal best mark in the 110-meter high hurdle competition, finishing with a time of 17.56 seconds. Michael Lopez-Zabala rounded out CHC's personal best efforts with a toss of 36.49 meters (119'9") in the javelin.

The 5,000 meter race produced two top five finishes as Christopher Nelson and Cole Stanchina continue to shine this outdoor season.  Nelson was third with a time of 15:58.50 and Stanchina was fourth with a time of 16:09.16.  Jason Fisher placed 13th with a time of 16:53.52

Chestnut Hill's 4x100 meter relay team will compete at Friday's Penn Relay Championships and the entire team will be at Saturday's College of New Jersey Invitational in Trenton, New Jersey.
