Three members of the Chestnut Hill College men's track and field team turned in personal best performances as the team recorded ten top ten finishes at the King's college monarch Oen Saturday in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania.
Starting off with the field events,
Elijah Fogg had a shot put toss of 11.70 meter (38' 4¾") to place fourth in the competition. His throw is the second longest in program history behind his record breaking toss of 11.76 meters last week. Fogg was also one of the three CHC competitors to record a personal best effort with a throw of 28.08 meters (92' 1") in the discus. He also made his collegiate debut in the javelin throw with a toss of 27.52 meters (90'3").Â
Pierson Dyson took second place in the long jump competition, leaping 5.86 meters (19' 2¾").
Christopher Nelson also recorded a second place finish in the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:15.57.Â
Cole Stanchina was right behind Nelson in third place with a time of 4:20.35 while
Jason Fisher placed fifth with a time of 4:31.50.
Sprints and hurdles made up the remaining top ten finishers for the Griffins with
Tyheem Bailey and
Branden Moye finishing third and fourth respectively in the 100 meter dash with times of 11.14 and 11.39 seconds. Bailey also recorded a third place finish in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.03 seconds while Moye was sixth with a time of 23.49 seconds. Â
Elijah Williams rounded out the Griffins' top ten finishers with a second place finish in the 110-meter hurdles, crossing the finish line in 17.97 seconds.
Williams also ran a personal-best 24.79 seconds for the 200 meter dash while
Donald Bonham recorded a personal-best in the 100 meter race with a time of 12.07 seconds.
Bonham, a freshman, also made his collegiate debut at 200-meters, finishing with a time of 25.55. Nelson and
Demitri Pierre Perez made their collegiate debuts at 400-meters with Nelson placing 11
th as the Griffins' top finisher in the event with a time of 58.18. Perez was 16
th with a time of 1:02.73.Â
Jason Rivas rounded out the Griffins making the debut at a particular event, with a javelin throw of 25.95 meters (85'1").
The Monarch Open was the Griffins' final tune-up before the CACC Championship meet which will be held on May 6-7 at Georgian court University.
