The Chestnut Hill College women's track team produced two scoring efforts and four top ten finishes as they concluded their season at the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Sunday.
In the field events,
Anastasia Watson placed fifth overall in the discus throw with a toss of 36.68 meters (120'4"), scoring four points for the team. In the shot put, Watson was ninth with a mark of 10.81 meters (35' 5¾").
Sydney Watts scored two points for the Griffins with a seventh place finish in the 5,000-meter run, crossing the finish line in 20:35.48.
Chestnut Hill's remaining top ten finish came in the final event of the day, the 4x400 relay. The Griffins' team of
Solanje James, Rebecca Dalton, Lily Short and
Aubrey Elias placed ninth with a time of 4:35.81.
The Griffins finished with six points, placing 12
th overall in the competition. Felician University won their first ever track and field championship with 231 points.
Dalton and Watts also had qualified for the 1,500 meter run and the duo placed 12
th and 13
th respectively in the event. Dalton finished in 5:20.11 while Watts finished in 5:28.42.
The CACC Championship meet marked the conclusion of the 2022-23 Chestnut Hill Track and field season.
