Six members of the Chestnut Hill College Women's Track and Field team competed at Friday's Stevenson University Invitational, recording one win, one personal best and eight top 15 finishes.

Gabby Hassler made her outdoor debut in both the 5,000 meter run and the javelin throw. Hassler raced to a win in the 5,000-meter race with a Central Atlantic collegiate conference (CACC) qualifying time of 20:55.32 seconds (seventh on the CACC performance list- teammate
Sydney Watts is #1).
Hassler also competed in the javelin throw for the first time, placing 11
th with a throw of 13.88 meters (45'6").
Aubrey Elias ran a personal-best time of 2:32.51 in the 800-meter run, placing 14
th overall in the event. Elias also placed 12
th in the 1,500 meter run with a time of 5:17.30. Watts finished 15
th with a time of 5:20.75. Elias had previously qualified for the conference championship meet in this event back on March 29 at the Danny Curran Invitational.
In the sprint events,
Solanje James recorded two top ten finishes in the 100 and 200 meter dash events, placing seventh in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.53 seconds and tenth in the 200 with a time of 29.33 seconds.
Deanna Otero also competed in the two events, finishing 16
th in the 100 (14.51 seconds) and 18
th in the 200 (31.13).
Fiona Goeckel rounded out the Griffins' top 15 finishers with a ninth place effort in the long jump, leaping 3.75 meters (12' 3¾") on her second of six jumps.
The women's track and field team returns to action on Friday, April 19, 2024, when they compete at the Widener University Invitational in Chester, Pennsylvania.
