Five personal best marks were set as the Chestnut Hill College women's track and field team competed at the Paul Donahue Invitational on Friday and Saturday at widener University.
Sprinter
Solanje James ran personal best times of 13.33 seconds in the 100 meter dash and 28.38 seconds in the 200 meter dash.
Moving onto the distance events,
Rebecca Dalton improved her CACC qualifying time in the 1,500-meter run, racing to a personal best time of 5:09.74. Â
Aubrey Elias also competed in the 1,500, finishing with a time of 5:17.49.Â
In the 5,000 meter run,
Gabby Hassler ran a personal best time of 19:55.17, improving upon her CACC qualifying time form last week.Â
Sydney Watts ran the second fastest 5,000 meter run in program history, just one second slower than her own school record of 18:53 with a time of 18:54.79.
The javelin throw also saw
Erin McCarthy coming close to the school record of 29.42 meters with a personal best throw of 28.53 meters (93'7").
Rounding out the Griffins' field competitors were
Anastasia Watson and
Fiona Goeckel. Watson placed 11
th in the shot put with a throw of 10.75 meters (35' 3¼") and 13
th in the discus with a throw of 33.96 meters (111'5").  Goeckel competed in the long jump and had a top jump of 3.31 meters (10' 10½").
The women's track and field team returns to action on April 27, 2024 when they compete at the TCNJ Invitational.
