Chestnut Hill College Men's Basketball player Alejandro Redondo Cybak has been named to the Philly-SIDA 2024-25 Academic All Area Men's Basketball team in an announcement made by the organization. The men's basketball team is voted on by the athletics communications offices of 30 institutions in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.

Cybak becomes the first Chestnut Hill College men's basketball player in program history to be named to the Philly-SIDA Academic All Area Men's Basketball team. He is one of six student athletes selected for this year's team and the only player from an area Division II institution selected.

Cybak, a junior post player, finished second on the team in both scoring and rebounding in 2024-25, averaging 12.1 points and 7.9 rebounds per game. He recorded eight double-doubles on the season and helped lead the Griffins into the conference playoffs for the second consecutive year.  This season he earned Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Player of the Week and Weekly honor roll accolades multiple times.

A computer science major, Cybak has earned Dean's List honors in every semester at Chestnut Hill and was named to the CACC Academic Honor Roll in each of the last three semesters. He is also slated to be named to the CACC all-Academic Team for 2024-25 when the conference releases it later this month.

Cybak is joined on the Academic All-Area team by five other standout student-athletes, including this year's Men's Basketball Performer of the Year, Eric Dixon from Villanova University. Joining Cybak and Dixon on the team is Wooga Poplar from Villanova, along with Justice Ajogbor (Saint Joseph's), Sam Brown (Penn), and Nick Nocito (Ursinus).
