Five Women's Basketball Players Named to the 2024-25 CACC All Academic Team

Five members of the Chestnut Hill College Women's Basketball team have been named to the 2024-2025 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Basketball All-Academic Team in an announcement made by the conference office.

In order to be eligible for the CACC All-Academic Teams, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, must have been a student-athlete at their current school for at least two semesters, and must have achieved a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 or higher through the preceding semester.

The five Chestnut Hill athletes were among 44 players named to the team, representing 11 of the 12 schools that participate in women's basketball within the conference. 

Leading the way for the Griffins are three time honorees Bri Rider and Emily Sekerak.  They are joined by two-time honoree Avery White and first time honorees Siobhan Boylan and Caleigh Edwards.

All five student-athletes have been named to CACC Academic Honor Roll in each of the last three semesters. with White earning the FAR Award of Distinction (4.0 semester g.p.a.) three times and Rider twice. Sekerak also earned the conference academic honor roll FAR Award of Distinction in the fall -24 semester.  Boylan and Edwards earned President's level (3.50-399 semester g.p.a.) three times with Sekerak earning it twice.

Rider is a biology major and has earned Dean's List honors every semester while at Chestnut Hill. She was a D2ADA Academic Achievement Award honoree for the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons and a College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honoree for 2024-25.  She is a member of the Tri Alpha and Delta Epsilon Sigma honor Societies. The senior swing player has been involved with CHC's Student Athletic Advisory Committee since her freshman year and this year served as the President of the organization.   

Sekerak, an early education/special education double major, was earned D2ADA Academic Achievement Award accolades during the 2022-23 and 2023-24 academic year and a two time CSC Academic All-District honoree in 2023-24 and 2024-25.  She has also received the Kappa Gamma Pi Academic Award for education majors.  The senior post player has also earned Dean's List and CHC Athletic Academic Honor roll accolades in every semester while at Chestnut Hill.

White, a business administration and management major is a two-time CSC Academic All-District honoree (2023-24 and 2024-25) and an Arthur Ashe Sports Scholar for Women's basketball in 2023-24.  She has earned Dean's List and CHC Athletic Academic Honor roll accolades in every semester while at Chestnut Hill.  White is also involved in the institution's SAAC program.

Edwards, a business administration and management major, was one of four Griffin Women's basketball players named to the CSC Academic All-District Team for 2024-25. She has been a dean's list student every semester while at Chestnut Hill and was inducted into Sigma Beta Delta Business Honor Society in the spring of 2024.

Boylan is a criminal justice major, has earned Dean's List and CHC Athletic Academic Honor Roll accolades five times since transferring into Chestnut Hill in the fall of 2022.

Since joining the CACC for the 2007-08 season, a total of 29 women's basketball players have earned CACC Women's Basketball All-Academic Team honors a total of 60 times in the school's 18 years as a conference member.  Sekerak and Rider are among the five players in program history to have received CACC all academic honors three times during their careers, while six Griffin women's basketball players, including White have earned CACC all-Academic honors twice in their career.
