Women's Tennis Team Place Four on the 2024-25 CSC Academic All-District Team

Four members of the Chestnut Hill College Women's Tennis team have been named to the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Women's Tennis Academic All District® team in an announcement made by the organization and the CSC Academic All-America® committee.

Named to this year's academic all-district team were seniors Alison Isaac and Romi Meirovich; junior Claudia Rasilla and sophomore Lilian Bandel.  Isaac and Meirovich were also named to last year's Academic All District® becoming the program's second and third two-time honorees.

The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Women's Tennis Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field or court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes women's tennis honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

To be eligible for Academic All-District® accolades, student-athletes must be at least at sophomore athletically and academically, appear in 70 percent of their team's matches that produce a team score and have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or better. Graduate students must have a 3.50 cumulative GPA in both their undergraduate and graduate programs.  This is only the third season that the CSC has named women's tennis academic all-district and all-America teams separate from the at-large program.

Academic All-District® honorees are reviewed by a group of Academic All-America® committee members for consideration for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® national ballot, where first, second and third team Academic All-America® honorees are chosen by the CSC Division II membership and the Academic All-America® core committee.  Isaac, Meirovich and Bandel were advanced to the national ballot.

Isaac turned in one of the best season's in program history, going undefeated in conference matches with a combined 19-0 mark in singles and doubles  and a 31-5 record overall for an .861 winning percentage, the best single season winning percentage in program history.  Her efforts earned her the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Player of the Year honors and first team all-conference. Isaac was also ranked 11th in the East Region for singles and seventh in doubles along with Bandel.

A health science major, Isaac is a member  of two honor societies, Chi Alpha Sigma, the national student athlete honor society and Sigma Zeta, the math and science national honor society.  She has also been named to the CACC Women's Tennis All-Academic team twice and is a two-time D2 Athletic Directors Association (D2ADA) Academic Achievement Award winner and a two time ITA Scholar Athlete (2022-23 and 2023-24) and is on target to earn all three honors again for 2024-25 when they are announced in the upcoming months.

Isaac guided her team to the CACC championship match for the first time since the 2016 season.  She finished her career with 84 total wins (singles & doubles) ranking ninth on the Griffins' all-time list.

Meirovich went 25-18 in singles and doubles play in 2024-25, her third straight 20+ win season, earning her second consecutive All-CACC accolade.  In the CACC Tournament semi-finals, Meirovich won at #4 singles, clinching the match and sending the Griffins to the conference championship for the first time since the 2016 season. 

A business administration and management major, Meirovich is a member of Chi Alpha Sigma, the national college athlete honor society and a member of Sigma Beta Delta Business honor society.  Meirovich is poised to earn her third CACC All-Academic Team honor and fourth ITA Scholar-Athlete Award when those teams are announced later this month.

Meirovich finished her career with 84 total wins, tied with Isaac for ninth on the Griffins' all-time list.

Rasilla is also a business administration and management major.  The junior athlete recorded a 22-14 record in 2024-25, playing primary at #5 singles where she recorded an 8-3 mark and #2 doubles (8-2 record). She earned CACC all-Academic honors in 2023-24 and is a two-time ITA scholar Athlete (2022-23, 2023-24).

Bandel, like several of her teammates is also a business administration and management major.  She produced a 23-13 record on the season including a 16-2 record in conference matches, including a perfect 9-0 mark in doubles play while teaming up with Isaac   Her efforts earned her a spot on the All-Conference team. Bandel earned a #7 ranking in the East Region in doubles this season, teaming up with Isaac.

As a freshman, Bandel was an ITA Scholar athlete.  She has earned Dean's List and CACC Academic Honor Roll accolades in each of her first three semesters at Chestnut Hill.

The women's tennis team concluded their 2024-25 campaign with a 13-6 overall record and a 7-3 mark in conference games, reaching the conference championship game for the first time since 2016.
