Chestnut Hill College Women's Tennis player Alison Isaac has been named to the 2024-25 Philly-SIDA Women's Tennis Academic All Area Team. Isaac is one of seven players from the Philadelphia metropolitan area that were selected for this year's team. The Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area teams are voted on by the sports communications offices of the institutions from the Philadelphia area.
Isaac becomes the seventh player in the history of the women's tennis program to be named to the Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area Women's Tennis team and the first since Nele Haag in 2023.
Now in its 20th season, The Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area program honors student-athletes in the Philadelphia metropolitan area who excel academically and athletically. To be eligible, a student-athlete must be in at least their second year at their institution academically and athletically and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher.
Isaac turned in one of the best season's in program history, going undefeated in conference matches with a combined 19-0 mark in singles and doubles and a 31-5 record overall for an .861 winning percentage, the best single season winning percentage in program history. Her efforts earned her the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Player of the Year honors and first team all-conference. Isaac was also ranked 11th in the East Region for singles and seventh in doubles along with Bandel.
A health science major, Isaac is a member of two honor societies, Chi Alpha Sigma, the national student athlete honor society and Sigma Zeta, the math and science national honor society. She has also been named to the CACC Women's Tennis All-Academic team twice and is a two-time D2 Athletic Directors Association (D2ADA) Academic Achievement Award winner and a two time ITA Scholar Athlete (2022-23 and 2023-24).
Isaac guided her team to the CACC championship match for the first time since the 2016 season. She finished her career with 84 total wins (singles & doubles) ranking ninth on the Griffins' all-time list.
The senior athlete graduated last month with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science.
Joining Isaac on the Women's Tennis academic all-area team are Jefferson graduate student Nicole Hrbkova, Villanova graduate student Sophia Edwards, Haverford senior Rachael Fitzgerald, Penn State-Abington sophomore Laurie Flemming, Swarthmore junior Kathleen Shiffer and Swarthmore senior Nathalie Williams who was voted the Philly SIDA Women's Tennis Performer of the Year.
