Martin Named 2026 Athletic Solutions CACC Women's Lacrosse Coach of the Year

Chestnut Hill College Women's Lacrosse Head Coach Liz Martin has been named the 2026 Athletic Solutions Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women's Lacrosse coach of the Year in an announcement made by the conference office on Wednesday.

The Coach of the Year award along with the selections for the 2026 All-Conference teams was voted on by the leagues ten head coaches.

Martin led the Griffins to an 8-7 overall record this season and a 4-5 record in conference games.  The team finished sixth in the league standings, earning a conference tournament berth for the first time since 2019.  The team also recorded their first winning season since 2018.

The 2026 team saw a 56% increase in offensive production form last season, finishing sixth in the league in goals per game at 9.27.  The team also saw improvement on defense, allowing three fewer goals per game in 2026 and three fewer turnovers per game compared to last season.  The 2026 squad also had the second lowest number of penalty minutes in the league.

In two seasons at the helm, Martin has produced an 11-15 record.  The Griffins will return 15 players for the 2027 season from this year's squad, including five of their top six scorers
