The Chestnut Hill College Men's golf team sits in 12th place after the first round of the Dr. Edwin B. Cottrell Invitational. The event is hosted by West Chester University and is being played at Penn Oaks Golf Club.
The Griffins finished the day with a score of 323, two strokes behind 11th place Wilmington University. Lafayette College held the lead after one round with a score of 295.
Kiefer Sharman led the Griffins with a score of 78 and was sitting in 32nd place among the 69 golfers. Sharman produced five pars and three birdies in the round. Trevor Dendler shot a score of 80 and was in 40th place. He recorded seven pars and had one birdie on the afternoon.
Jack Bulman was one strike behind Dendler with a score of 81 with nine pars on the afternoon. Rogelio Gerena and Noah Cutting rounded out the Griffins' competitors. Gerena shot an 84 with seven pars and a birdie while Cutting shot a 91, recording five pars.
The golf team returns to action on Tuesday, April 7 for the final round of the Dr. Edwin B. Cottrell Invitational.
