Trevisan Run of Double-Doubles Draws CACC Weekly Honor Roll Mention

New Haven, Conn. - (2/4/2014) – Earning his second Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Weekly Honor Roll mention, graduate guard Taylor Trevisan (West Chester, Pa.) averaged 17.5 points-per-game (PPG) and 9.5 rebounds-per-game (RPG) while ending a three-game streak of double-doubles with 18 points and 13 rebounds in a league loss at Wilmington University last week.

Despite a third straight double-double from Trevisan, Chestnut Hill College (6-13, 4-8) trailed Wilmington University in Tuesday night's 56-51 CACC final. The Griffins led briefly off the opening tip, but a nine-point halftime lead, 29-20, and a few too many turnovers allowed the Wildcats to capture the season sweep. Trevisan went for 18 points and 13 rebounds while also headlining the Griffins defensive effort with a block and three steals. He finished the affair 7-of-13 (.538) from the floor, 1-of-3 (.333) from long range, and 3-of-3 (1.000) from the free throw line.

Junior guard Christian Walck (Lancaster, Pa.) did all he could, but a 62.6% (28-of-45) team shooting performance from Dominican College eventually overwhelmed the Griffins in a 92-79 CACC final. Walck scored 19 second-half points and finished with a career-high 24 points, while Trevisan carried the Griffins in the early going with 11 points, four rebounds, and three assists in a 44-41 halftime deficit. He finished the contest with 17 points, six rebounds, and four assists.

Trevisan is currently leading the Griffins in scoring (14.8 PPG) and rebounding (6.4 RPG) while offering 27 assists, two blocks, and 31 steals. Trevisan is shooting 96-of-208 (.462) from the field, 21-of-51 (.412) from three-point territory, and 68-of-82 (.829) from the free throw line while recently recording three straight double-doubles; he ranks 12th in the CACC for rebounding, tenth in scoring, eighth in three-point shooting, eighth in steals, and fifth in free throw shooting.

The men's basketball team plays next on Wednesday, February 5, when they visit the University of the Sciences for a CACC contest.
