Reid Continues Men’s Soccer’s run
Of CACC Honorable Mentions
 
New Haven, CT – (9/27/2010) – In dramatic fashion against Post University on September 25, junior forward Gavin Reid (Dundee, Scotland) headed the game-winning goal late in the second half. Reid helped Chestnut Hill College remain in second place in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) with a 1-1 week; in return he was recognized with an honorable mention among the league’s weekly award winners.
 
With 4:43 remaining in regulation, sophomore forward Ryan Lannutti (Calabasas, CA) crossed ball to the well positioned head of Reid, who redirected the ball to net for his team-leading fourth goal of the season. Celebration ensued with the Chestnut Hill College (6-2, 4-1) securing a 1-0 advantage in a well-played battle against Post University. The Griffins held on for the remainder of the clock to collect their fourth CACC win.
 
Reid also leads the team in points (9) and game-winning goals (2); he joins sophomore goalkeeper Michael Goldstein (Pennsauken, NJ), sophomore forward Carl Essenthier (Philadelphia, PA), and Lannutti as the fourth Griffin to earn an honorable mention from the CACC this season.
 
The men’s soccer team takes a break from CACC play with a 6:30 p.m. contest against St. Thomas Aquinas College on Wednesday, September 29. The contest will be played at Victory Field #1, on the campus of Plymouth Whitemarsh High School.
