Parapouras’ Perfection Draws 
Rookie Award from CACC

New Haven, CT – (10/12/2010) – Through 12 matches sophomore Maria Parapouras (Victoria, Australia) is a perfect 11-0 at number three singles. Parapouras scored individual victories against Holy Family University and St. Thomas Aquinas College to garner an honorable mention among the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) weekly award winners.

Parapouras improved her individual season mark to 11-0 at number three singles with two more victories this week. On October 6, she defeated freshman Maja Pantelic (Palic, Serbia) of Holy Family University 7-5, 6-2, but the Tigers won the match 5-3. Against St. Thomas Aquinas College on October 8, she won number three singles 6-0, 6-0 and also combined with Sophomore Danielle Knott (Mt. Vernon, NY) for an 8-2 at number two doubles. Parapouras and Knott are 8-4 as a duo for Chestnut Hill College (7-5, 4-3) this season.

The women’s tennis team returns home to conclude their CACC schedule with a 4:00 p.m. match against Georgian Court University on Wednesday, October 13.
