Tumasz and Wildgoose Warrant CACC Women’s Basketball Weekly Honor Roll Recognition

New Haven, Conn. - (1/29/2018) – For the second straight week, senior guard Vicky Tumasz (North Wales, Pa.) and junior forward Jaeda Wildgoose (Somerset, N.J.) were mentioned on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women’s Basketball Honor Roll. The duo both averaged 18 points-per-game in a 1-1 week that featured an 80-64 league win at Concordia College (NY) (January 27); the former led the Griffins in the victory with 24 points, three rebounds, three assists, and two steals, while the latter recorded her 10th double-double (14 points 10 rebounds) against the Clippers and offered a team-high 22 points in the loss a 74-71 loss to Jefferson University on Tuesday, January 24.

Chestnut Hill College (13-8, 9-3) and local rival, Jefferson University battled from beginning to end of Tuesday night’s CACC matchup as the Griffins’ game-tying three point attempt was denied with just six seconds (0:06) remaining. The Scarlet and Gold got five (5-of-10, .500) three point baskets from sophomore forward Shannon Glenn (Philadelphia, Pa.), but Wildgoose captained the Griffin effort with 22 points, seven rebounds, and three assists. Tumasz was the third Griffin in double figures with 12 points in addition to her four rebounds.

After a two-game hiatus, Chestnut Hill College returned to the win column with Saturday’s 80-64 CACC win at Concordia College (NY). The Griffins (26-of-67, .388) and Clippers (26-of-79, .329) battled through a rough shooting day with the Scarlet and Gold persevering on the merit of their long range success (9-of-28, .321) and a superior effort at the free throw line (19-of-23, .826). Tumasz hit four threes (4-of-10) in a 7-of-14 (.500) shooting performance that was accompanied by six free throws (6-of-7, .857), three rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Meanwhile, Wildgoose needed only 22 minutes to accumulate her 14 points and 10 rebounds.

The Chestnut Hill College women’s basketball team continues their CACC schedule on Tuesday, January 30, when they visit Goldey-Beacom College for a 6:00 p.m.
