Philadelphia, PA – (4/15/2010) – Philadelphia University used two scoring streaks to overcome an early Chestnut Hill College advantage, as the Lady Rams won this afternoon's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest 17-11. Senior midfielder Carley Glass (Swedesboro, NJ) recorded her 100th career assist 1:12 into the game, finding her sister to tie the contest 1-1.

Philadelphia University (7-5, 6-2) took the lead just 33 seconds into the contest on a score from senior midfielder Kathleen Maurer (Rochester, NY), but the Glass sisters netted the next four goals for Chestnut Hill College (4-8, 3-6) to put the Griffins ahead 4-1 with 21:04 remaining in the first half. The Lady Rams scored the next seven goals, before the Griffins could answer on a goal from Carley Glass with 1:14 left in the period, 8-5. The Lady Rams added one more before the break to lead 9-5 at intermission. Following halftime, the Griffins trimmed the margin to one, 9-8, thanks to the first collegiate goal for freshman attack Bobbie Chukuntarod (San Francisco, CA) and a goal apiece for the Glasses. Unfortunately, an 8-1 Lady Ram run spoiled the rally and drove Philadelphia University to an eventual 17-11 win.

Maurer was the Lady Rams' top performer with three goals, five assists, a ground ball, four draws, and two caused turnovers. Sophomore attack Taylor Peltzer (Holland, PA) added four goals while senior goalkeeper Katherine Sullivan (Mt. Laurel, NJ) earned the win with 17 saves.

Carley Glass led the Griffins with five goals and two assists. She also collected a ground ball, four draws, and three caused turnovers. Senior attack Maryanne Glass (Swedesboro, NJ) totaled four goals, four draws, and two caused turnovers. Freshman attack Nicole Covella (Vineland, NJ) also registered a goal. Junior goalkeeper Cherise Bell (Elkins Park, PA) made eight saves in the loss (4-8).

The women's lacrosse team will host Molloy College for Senior Day festivities this Saturday, April 17. The contest is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. opening draw.
