Box Score Philadelphia, PA – (11/22/2011) – In a haphazard contest, West Chester University grinded out a 72-67 win over Chestnut Hill College using a superior free throw shooting percentage (83.3%-65.2%) and a 40-31 rebounding advantage to overcome the Griffins and their own 19 turnovers. Dan Comas (Philadelphia, PA) recorded his 1,000 career point with 1:10 remaining in the first half, enshrining him as the fifth Griffin to reach the milestone.
Chestnut Hill College (4-2) controlled a 35-31 halftime advantage thanks to a slightly better shooting performance (44.8%-35.5%) and spirit off the bench from sophomore guard
Jakeem Bogans (Philadelphia, PA). At intermission, Bogans led a balanced Griffin effort with eight points. Unfortunately, West Chester University (3-2) was just as diverse with McDowell's eight points leading them at halftime. Following the break, McDowell and the Golden Rams quickly erased the Griffins four-point halftime lead, as they pulled even, 39-39, just 2:11 (17:49) into the closing period. After that, the lead would change hands nine times before the final buzzer. McDowell would keep the Golden Rams ahead for a majority of remaining game clock and in the last five minutes he dropped eight points to help West Chester University pull away for a five-point win.
McDowell was 9-of-14 (64.3%) from the floor to lead the Golden Rams 25-of-55 (45.5%) shooting performance. He was complimented by 12 points, five rebounds, four assists, and two steals from junior guard Jon Breeden (Harrisburg, PA), and 11 points from sophomore guard Jaleel Mack (Philadelphia, PA).
For the Griffins, Bogans led the way with 16 points off the bench. He made up for a 4-of-13 (30.8%) shooting performance by hitting 7-of-9 (77.8%) from the free throw line. Junior guard

Brandon Williams (Philadelphia, PA) totaled 12 points and four rebounds. Comas led the Griffins in rebounds with six; he finished the evening with nine points.
