Philadelphia, Pa. – (10/13/2012) – Competing on back-to-back days, the Chestnut Hill College tennis teams welcomed Adelphi University to campus for their second dual match in as many days. The Griffins and Panthers split the afternoon's wins, as the Griffin women collected their tenth win of the season, 7-2, while the Panther men beat the Griffins 5-4. Chestnut Hill College (10-2) led Adelphi University (3-1) 2-1 after the completion of women's doubles. The Griffins claimed their victories at number one and number two doubles with Shcherbakova and
Maria Parapouras (Victoria, Australia) winning the top match 8-4, and

Morgan Oechsle (Coopersburg, Pa.) winning in the second flight, 8-2. The Panthers kept things close with an 8-2 win at number three doubles. The Griffin nearly swept the women's singles matches, only yielding to the Panthers at number six singles 9-8 (9-7). At number one singles, Shcherbakova won 7-5, 6-2. Dennis was the victor at number two singles 6-0, 6-1. Parapouras took number three singles 6-2, 6-2. Number four singles went to Oechsle, 7-6 (7-2), 6-2, while freshman

The Chestnut Hill College (3-2) men were on the wrong side of a 2-1 deficit after their doubles matches were complete. Sophomore

Manuel Ceniceros (Mexico City, Mexico) won the Griffins their lone doubles win by taking the third flight 8-4. Panthers won number one and number two doubles, 8-6 and, 8-5, respectively. The Griffins looked to rally for the win in individual play, but the Panthers managed to hold them off with wins at number one singles, 6-3, 6-1, number four singles, 6-3, 6-2, and number six singles, 6-1, 6-0. Yoann Pham (Boulogne-Billancourt, France) won number two singles, 7-5, 6-1, junior
Anthony Moore claimed number three singles 7-6 (7-3), 6-2, and freshman
Kevin Taylor took number five singles 6-0, 3-6, 6-2.
The men's tennis team will resume play in the spring, while the Chestnut Hill College women's tennis team prepares to for postseason play in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship Tournament. Chestnut Hill College will serve as host for the championships, which are scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 20. As the #3 seed, the Griffins will challenge #2 Goldey-Beacom College in the opening, quarterfinal round.
