The Griffins started off strong, winning the opening game 25-8, before finishing off the Lions with scores of 25-16 and 25-20. Freshman hitter

Alyssa Tamsing (Ventura, Calif.), finishing with 16 kills on a .353 (16K-4E-34TA) hitting percentage.
Chestnut Hill College (2-4) separated from Lincoln University (0-1) early in the opening set, as the Griffins established a 21-4 advantage on 15 straight serves from junior defensive specialist
Sarah Mattaliano (Coral Springs, Fla.). Mattaliano spotted four aces in the run, which spurred the Griffins for a 25-8 win. The Lions slowed the tempo in the second game, limiting the Griffins to a 12-9 lead before a 13-7 finishing run, 25-16. The third game progressed at a similar rate with the Griffins holding a narrow 10-8 lead before closing out the evening on a 25-20 win.
Junior outside hitter Cynthia Johnson (Randallstown, Md.) and freshman setter Erica McClain (Kennett Square, Pa.) headlined the Lion effort. Johnson recorded three kills and McClain provided three assists. Defensively, sophomore outside hitter Tarayja Brooks (Kennett Square, Pa.) led the Lions with ten digs. Her effort was supported by five team blocks.
Tamsing totaled 18 assists while Gruver's production was complimented by freshman middle hitter

The women volleyball team heads to Le Moyne College next, continuing their schedule with a 12:00 p.m. match against the hosting Dolphins and a 2:00 p.m. match against Mercy College.
