Box Score Philadelphia, Pa. – (4/20/2013) – Playing for the first time on campus, the Chestnut Hill College men's lacrosse team found comfort in familiar surroundings for a 14-3 East Coast Conference (ECC) victory of Dominican College (NY). Contributions came from the entire Griffins roster with senior attack

The contest was quiet at the start, scoreless for the opening six minutes the stalemate was broke with a connection between junior attack
Michael Melnychenko (St. Catherines, Ontario) and senior midfielder
Nathaniel Tharp (Laytonsville, Md.) putting Chestnut Hill College (6-5, 3-2) on the scoreboard with 8:45 left in the opening quarter, 1-0. Not long after, senior attack
Shane Morlock (Whitby, Ontario) made the Griffins advantage 2-0, to help the home team hold a 4-2 lead following the frames remaining, alternating assaults. The Griffins were the only ones to score in the second quarter; they did it twice to hold a 6-2 halftime lead. In the second half it was all Griffins with Owen leading a 8-0 run that would have ended on the final horn if not for one more Dominican College (0-10, 0-5) score with 25 seconds on the game clock (0:25), 14-3.
Freshman attack Joseph Ravenell (Copiague, N.Y.) scored first and last Charger goal, he also recovered five ground balls to lead the visitors. Freshman attack Justin Ruffin (Amityville, N.Y) recorded the other tally and collected three ground balls while junior defenseman Anton Gjeloshi (Pomona, N.Y.) grabbed six ground balls off of a 10-for-21 (47.6%) performance on face-offs. Junior goalkeeper Matthew Quinones (Nanuet, N.Y.) made 15 saves and recovered a ground ball in defeat (0-10).
Owen recorded four goals, two assists, two ground balls, and a caused turnover in the triumph, but the Griffins also received multi-point performances from Melnychenko, senior midfielder

The men's lacrosse team completes their home schedule next Saturday, April 27, with another ECC challenge as Dowling College will meet the Griffins for a 1:00 p.m. face-off at the Plymouth Whitemarsh High School Football Stadium.
