It was Chestnut Hill College (4-5, 1-3) who was the aggressor early, but a 5-2 second-quarter scoring edge put Molloy College (9-0, 3-0) in the advantage heading to halftime. Senior attack

Daniel Junji Wiener (Houston, Texas) at 10:41 in the first quarter, giving the Griffins a 1-0 lead. The next Griffin goal came at 7:33 when senior midfielder
Dennis Klusaritz Jr. (Allentown, Pa.) made it 2-0 with an unassisted tally. The Lions interrupted at 6:09, 2-1, but a Morlock goal made it 3-1 Griffins at 3:50, only to have sophomore attack Tom Englehart (Bethpage, N.Y.) score the last goal of the period to leave the deficit at one, 3-2, heading to the second frame.
The Lions scored three times before the 11-minute mark of the second quarter, 5-3, added a fourth on a man-up opportunity, 6-3, and a fifth on a unassisted score from junior midfielder Joseph Biscardi (Wantagh, N.Y.) to own a 7-3 advantage with 2:32 left until halftime. Michael Melnychenko (St. Catharines, Ontario) at 1:26 to bring the Griffins within two at the break, 7-5. However, after intermission the Lions doubled up the Griffins 4-2 to endure for an 11-7 win.
Off the Lion bench, freshman midfielder Austin Valenti (Baldwin, N.Y.) was the home team's leader scorer with three goals. He also recorded four ground balls. Engelhardt added an assist, three ground balls, and a caused turnover to his score while freshman defenseman Andrew Biscardi (Wantagh, N.Y.) recorded three ground balls off of his 12 face-offs wins (12-of-18, 66.7%). Junior goalkeeper John Grebe (Farmingville, N.Y.) made seven saves and collected a ground ball in the win (9-0).
Morlock, Owen, and Fisher each recorded multiple-point performances to headline the Griffins offensive production. Miskell recorded two ground balls and two caused turnovers, supporting a 16-save, four-ground ball effort from Maurer (4-5).
The men's lacrosse team returns home to host (RV) Mercy College in a 1:00 p.m. ECC contest on Saturday, April 13.
