Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Philadelphia, Pa. – (4/17/2014) – A third-inning lead-off homerun from sophomore right fielder Francesca Faillace (Philadelphia, Pa.) stood as the highpoint in today's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) doubleheader against Wilmington University, who won the opener 3-1 before recording a 5-0 victory in game two.

Senior pitcher Stephanie Sarris (Rohnert Park, Calif.) held Chestnut Hill College (6-22, 6-14) to three hits in game two. With Wilmington University (21-17, 13-5) ahead 3-0, the Griffins looked to answer in the bottom of the third inning. The Griffins loaded the bases with a lead-off double from sophomore shortstop Allie Williams (Warrenton, Va.), a two-out beanball, and a single through the left side from sophomore catcher Megan Kehr (Exton, Pa.), but the threat was ended with one of Sarris' eight strikeouts.

The Wildcats scored three in their first at-bat of the afternoon, 3-0, before sophomore pitcher Jen Fischbach (Camden, Del.) stranded senior first baseman Giana Cavallo (Turnersville, Pa.) at third after a lead-off single in the second inning. Faillace's homerun opened the home team's third at-bat, 3-1, but neither side would score again as pitching claimed the remaining frames. Faillace was one of six different Griffins to record a hit game one, while sophomore pitcher Courtney Dayter (Cohoes, N.Y.) had only one bad inning in the loss (2-7); 7IP, 7H, 3R, 2BB, 3K.

The softball team heads to Concordia College on Saturday, April 19, to continue their CACC schedule with a 1:00 p.m. doubleheader against the Clippers.
