As individuals, the Griffins quickly advanced their 2-1 advantage with wins at number six (by default), five (6-0, 6-1), and four singles (6-1, 6-1) lying the ground work for an eventual 7-2 win.

Meanwhile, the Chestnut Hill College (18-9) women worked on a 6-3 triumph with doubles victories in the second and third flights, and individual wins at number one, two, three, five, and six singles. Junior Morgan Oechsle (Coopersburg, Pa.) and sophomore Hayley Craskey (Aston, Pa.) scored the match's first point with their 8-5 win at number three doubles, 1-0. Senior Kelly Dennis (Cincinnati, Ohio) and sophomore Iman Williams-Mulesa (Pickering, Ontario) then added an 8-4 win at number two doubles, before the Firebirds responded with an 8-5 win in the top team flight. But again the Griffins should their individual prowess with Dawson taking number one singles by retirement (5-2, retired), Oechsle following at number five singles (7-6 (6-4), 6-1), and Williams Mulesa winning the second flight (6-1, 6-4), 5-1, before UDC (8-8) could answer with wins at number six (6-3, 3-6, 6-1) and number four singles (6-2, 7-6 (6-4)), 5-3. The final chip to fall was at number three singles, where Deleval endured for a 7-5, 1-6, 10-8 triumph, 6-3.
