Box Score | Philadelphia, Pa. - (10/13/2015) – In just their second match of the 2015-2016 campaign, Chestnut Hill College was victorious, dispatching cross-town Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) rival 7-1 in a non-conference challenge. The Griffins swept doubles play and were triumphant in all but number four singles and number two singles, which was left unfinished.
Sophomores
Lucas Bocaletto (Itatiba, Brazil) and
Pedro Festugato Regalin (Caxias do Sul, Brazil) led the Chestnut Hill College (2-0) charge with an 8-3 win at number two doubles. They were followed by senior
Henry Boyle (London, England) and freshman
Adam Gavin (Gothenburg, Sweden), who echoed the 8-3 final before sophomore
Jonathan Ducretot (Antibes, France) and freshman
Pierre Kohler (Les Sables d'Olonne, France) closed out the team round with their 8-5 win at number one doubles.
The Griffins looked to keep up the successful pace in singles play, winning enough points before number two singles was cut short (7-6 (7-4), unfinished). The Griffins won the first point of the individual round at number one singles, where Koehler won by default. The other Chestnut Hill College points came at number three singles, where Boyle won by a 6-4, 6-2 final, and number five and number six singles, where Gavin and freshmen
Lucas Abe (Duderstadt, Germany) scored respective 6-2, 6-2, and 6-1, 6-1, victories. The Rams claimed their only point of the afternoon at number four singles as sophomore
Daniel Awad (Cartagena, Colombia) fell in a three set match 6-1, 3-6, 6-4.
With their fall schedule now behind them, the Chestnut Hill College men's tennis team preps for spring play which resumes on February 17, 2016, with a 1:00 p.m. match at The College of New Jersey.
