Box Score 2 Philadelphia, Pa. - (10/3/2015) – A full day of competition awaited the Chestnut Hill College women's volleyball team, who hosted a tri-match with Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) rival Caldwell University and the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT). The Bears left Sorgenti Arena with the perfect record, permitting Caldwell University a split, and the Griffins to an, unfortunate, winless afternoon. In an opening CACC engagement, the Cougars defeated the Griffins by a 3-0 (25-11, 25-23, 25-22) final. Caldwell University followed that up with a 3-0 (25-22, 25-22, 26-24) loss to NYIT, who in turn topped the Griffins in the finale, 3-0 (25-20, 25-18, 25-20). Senior outside hitter
Rachel Biro (Nazareth, Pa.) led the Griffins in the opener with 12 kills and two block assists, while junior outside hitter
Madison McBride (Long Beach, Calif.) offered a team-best 14 kills and 13 digs in the night cap.
The middle match featured the two visiting squads; NYIT (12-3) and Caldwell University (13-6, 5-2), who battled in a three-set clash that ended with the Bears on top, 25-22, 25-22, 26-24. Sophomore right side Katrina Janssen (Seville, Australia) headlined the Cougar effort with 12 kills and three block assists, while a trio of Bears reached double-digit kills in addition to eight team blocks.
Chestnut Hill College (5-14, 4-2) opened with a slow start opposite Caldwell College. The Cougars took advantage, sprinting out to a 25-11 win in the first set and an eventual three-set victory with succeeding wins of 25-23 and 25-22. Headlining the Cougar effort was Janssen, who efficiently racked up 19 kills on a .472 (19K-2E-36TA) hitting percentage. She was fed by sophomore setter Gabrielle Bennett (San Antonio, Texas), 24 assists, who was one of three Cougars in double-digit digs (15). Biro made her dozen kills on a .226 (12K-5E-31TA) hitting percentage and added five digs and two block assists to her offensive performance. Freshman setter

Peyton Reno (Wilmington, Del.) joined her in double-digit digs with ten and 15, respectively.
After a break, the Griffins' second match of the tri-match placed them opposite NYIT. Fresh off a win over the Cougars, the Bears dispatched the Griffins in similar fashion with favorable set scores of 25-20, 25-18, 25-20. A tall sleuth of Bears played proficiently at the net with sophomore outside hitter Karolina Moderova (Zalesie, Slovakia) (14 kills) and senior middle blocker Kate Brock (River Edge, N.J.) (12 kills) combining for 26 kills and inspiring a .273 (46K-13E-121TA) team hitting percentage. Sophomore setter Allison Fowler (Centennial, Colo.) offered 37 assists, while Moderova and two others recorded double-digit digs. McBride's 14 kills were complimented by nine from Biro and supported by 25 assists from Sutton. Trabosh matched McBride's dig total with 13 of her own.
The women's volleyball team returns to Sorgenti Arena on Wednesday, October 7, when they challenge Georgian Court University in the first of two CACC meetings (7:00 p.m.).
