Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Caldwell, N.J. - (4/24/2015) – Junior center fielder Nicole Carney (Ontario, Calif.) singled through the left side in the third inning of the second game of today's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) doubleheader at #18 Caldwell University, breaking up the Cougar no-hit bid and serving as one of four baserunners in an 11-0 five-inning league loss. The Cougars won the opener as well with a second-inning passed ball allowing junior designated player Allie Williams (Warrenton, Va.) to cross the plate for the lone Griffin run in an 13-1, five-inning loss.

Freshman left fielder Jaden Perrillo (Shickshinny, Pa.) walked in the first inning of game two and reached second on Carney's sacrifice bunt, but neither of them reached home in the first or third innings, respectively, as Caldwell University (27-11-1, 20-2) slugged for an 11-0, five-inning victory behind the combined efforts of sophomore pitcher Sydney Pronto (West Deptford, N.J.) and senior pitcher Sarah Almasy (Stratford, N.J.). The Cougars arms held Chestnut Hill College (9-27, 7-19) to Carney's single, three walks, and a hit batsman while using a big first inning, 9-0, and two third-inning runs to end the nightcap early, 11-0.

The first game also ended after five innings as the Cougars scored four runs in the first inning and 11 more following Williams' hustle home in the second inning. Junior third baseman Sofia Cedrone (Philadelphia, Pa.) led the Griffins second at-bat off with a single back to the Cougar pitcher and after a fielder's choice Williams replaced her at first to serve as the Griffins only run of the afternoon following a beaning of junior right fielder Francesca Lynn Faillace (Philadelphia, Pa.), a walk to junior second baseman Julie Heaton (Berlin, N.J.), and a passed ball during an inning-ending strikeout of senior left fielder Courtney Dayter (Cohoes, N.Y.). Unfortunately, the Griffins managed little else against Almasy (2IP, 2H, 2K) as she relieved junior Amber Padilla (Chino, Calif.) (13-5), who earned her 13th win of the season with three strikeouts in the first three frames.

Chestnut Hill College finishes their season on Sunday, April 26, when they visit Pace University for a noon (12:00 p.m.) doubleheader.
