Box Score Waterbury, Conn. - (1/6/2016) – Chestnut Hill College found their groove in this afternoon's contest at the Drubner Center, getting back in the win column with an 83-44 victory over Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) rival Post University. The win marks the Griffins' largest margin of victory since a 90-40 win (50 points) versus Washington Adventist University on November 15, 2010. Freshman guard Mary Trossi (Somerset, N.J.) led the Griffins with 25 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals, while junior forward Caity Kuhnen (Binghamton, N.Y.) continued her torrid shooting with 23 points on a 5-of-8 (.625) three-point performance.

Chestnut Hill College (4-9, 2-4) never gave Post University (0-14, 0-6) a chance in 40 minutes of league play, building a ten-point advantage, 10-0, in the opening eight minutes (2:11), and expanding their lead to 18 points, 39-21, by halftime. It was a three-headed attack for the Griffins, who assumed their halftime perch with 12 points from Kuhnen, 11 points from Trossi, and 10 points from freshman forward Jaeda Wildgoose (Somerset, N.J.). It was Trossi's drive-and-kick and Wildgoose's paint play that set the stage for another Kuhnen shooting exposition. She hit two trifectas in the first half (2-of-5, .400) and all three of her second-half (3-of-3, 1.000) attempts to spur Chestnut Hill College to their colossal victory.

The Griffins outscored the Eagles 42-18 in the paint and 31-10 off turnovers as they shot 47.1% (32-of-68, .471) from the floor, 52.9% (9-of-17, .529) from long range, and 62.5% (10-of-16) from the free throw line in the process. With seven blocks and 12 steals, the Griffins held the Eagles to a 27.4% (17-of-62) shooting performance while forcing a season-best 28 turnovers.

Juniors, forward Nicole Sheloski (Hudson Falls, N.Y.) and guard Jovan Kingwood (Norwalk, Conn.) were the most effective options for the Eagles. Sheloski offered 10 points and three rebounds, while Kingwood came off the bench for 13 points, five rebounds, four assists, and a steal.

Trossi was 10-of-16 (.625) from the field, 2-of-3 (.667) from three-point range, and 3-of-9, (.333) from the free throw line in her highest scoring performance to date. Kuhnen added seven rebounds and two steals to her offensive production while Wildgoose paired her 12 points with four rebounds, a block, and a steal. Sophomore forward Nicole Parriski (Burlington, N.J.) was the fourth Griffin in doubles figures, adding two rebounds, an assist, two blocks, and two steals to her 11 points.

The Griffins continue their CACC schedule on Saturday, January 9, with a 1:00 p.m. contest at Concordia College (NY).
