The Chestnut Hill College sprint football team made sure it came back from the first road trip in program history with trophy in hand as the Griffins scored eight points in the final 1:44 of the 2015 CACC Bowl to defeat Post University by a 24-21 final. The freshman quarterback,
Reginald Robinson Jr. (Germantown, Md.) hooked up with sophomore wide receiver
Domoree Hill (Bethlehem, Pa.) for a 10-yard touchdown pass with 32 seconds (0:32) remaining.
The Scarlet and Gold set up the game-winning march with a crucial defensive stop at the most opportune time, turning potential heartbreak into elation in the blink of an eye. The Griffins were ready to take the lead on their previous drive, but Post University poked the ball out of Robinson's hands on a scramble and recovered at their own one-yard line, denying the visitors a go-ahead score. But the defense rose up, forcing a safety – its second of the day – that cut the Eagle edge to 21-18 with 1:44 remaining.
The Griffins took over at their own 45-yard line and needed only three plays to matriculate down to the Eagles' 23-yard line. The momentum stalled there, however, facing the visitors with a do-or-die fourth-and-two. Robinson calmly found Hill for a 10-yard gain down to the Eagle 10-yard line, before connecting with his go-to wideout two plays later for the game-winning touchdown. Consecutive sacks by
Brian Layden (Springfield, Pa.) and
Justuce Pitts (Philadelphia, Pa.) allowed the clock to run out on Chestnut Hill College's memorable road debut.
Powered by CollegeTVTicket.com, the CACC will broadcast each of its 15 conference championship events in HD on is Digital Network. The CACCDN has expanded its webcasts over the past two years and looks to do the same this year as the league has added webcasts for both the men's golf and track & field championships to make sure all 15 league championships were being streamed for fans around the globe to follow all the action. On top of the graphics and play-by-play announcing added in 2015-2016, CACCDN broadcasts will now be interactive, allowing fans to participate with a trivia contest that will be held during each event. The first trivia contest will be held between the first and second quarters this Saturday's CACC Bowl. The first fan to correctly answer the trivia question will win a prize, courtesy of the CACC. There will be two ways for fans to answer the trivia questions;
