Box Score Shirley, N.Y. - (3/26/2016) – Chestnut Hill College continued their recent string of contests versus nationally ranked East Coast Conference (ECC) opponents as they visited #9 Dowling College for this afternoon competition. The Golden Lions used a 6-1 first-quarter advantage to avoid the Griffins' brief second-quarter rally, 7-4, and claim a 14-6 league victory on their home field. Junior attack Alec Dambach (Howell, N.J.) led the Griffins in scoring with a pair of goals, but sophomore midfielder Brian Sinex (Holmes, Pa.) was the Scarlet and Gold's top point provider with a goal and two assists.

Dowling College (6-2, 2-1) scored the contest's first two goals in the opening five minutes, 2-1 (10:42), of the affair. Chestnut Hill College (1-6, 1-3) got on the scoreboard with a Dambach man-up goal at 7:19, 2-1, but that was the only Griffin goal until 6:38 of the second quarter, when sophomore attack Dylan Klusaritz (Slatington, Pa.) scored a second man-up tally that left the home team's advantage at 7-2. Sinex assisted him on that tally and junior midfielder Andrew Dooley (Monroe Township, N.J.) on the next, which came less than two minutes later (4:50) and narrowed the deficit to four tallies, 7-3. The rally continued with Dambach scoring a goal five seconds (0:05) before halftime, 7-4, and junior midfielder Justin Albarran (Freehold, N.J.) cutting the margin to just two goals, 7-5, at 13:29 of the third quarter. But that was as close as the Griffins would get with the Golden Lions outscoring them 7-1 to the final buzzer, 14-6.

Junior midfielder Josh Shaw (Bayport, N.Y.) supported him with four points of his own (three goals and an assist) while graduate midfielder Bryan Anderson (Bayport, N.Y.) won 13-of-23 (.565) face-offs and recovered seven ground balls.
