Dylan Klusaritz (Slatington, Pa.) brought Chestnut Hill College within one tally midway through in the fourth quarter (8:44), but the home side scored the contest's next two goals to endure a fleeting tally from senior midfielder

Alec Dambach (Howell, N.J.) led the Scarlet and Gold with a five-point (four goals and an assist) performance that included four ground balls.
Florida Southern College (5-2) owned the contest's initial advantage with the first three tallies of the afternoon. The first came unassisted at 12:43, 1-0, the second on a man-up opportunity just 35 second later (12:08), 2-0, and the third just before the 10-minute mark (10:03), 3-0. But not to be outdone, Chestnut Hill College (0-3) fired back with three consecutive goals of their own as senior attack
Michael Plaia (Hicksville, N.Y.) sandwiched his second goal of the season (3-2 at 4:51) between a pair of Dambach tallies at 6:05 (3-1) and 3:18 (3-3) to knot the contest at 3-3. Each side scored once more in the final three minutes of the frame, leaving the first-quarter spread a 4-4. The second quarter ended evenly as well with Chestnut Hill College bookending the Moccasins' three-goal streak with an opening tally from junior midfielder
Justin Albarran (Freehold, N.J.), 5-3 at 13:02, and a pair of catchup-goals from Markey, 7-6 at 4:45, and Plaia, 7-7 at 4:23.
Following the halftime break, three Moccasin goals passed the pressure to the four quarter, where Chestnut Hill College aimed to surmount Florida Southern University's 10-7 edge. Dambach landed the first blow with an unassisted goal at 9:12, 10-8, and a second notch was made less than 30 seconds later (8:44) when Klusaritz deposited a Dambach pass to cut the deficit to a single goal, 10-9. But the rally was soon quieted with Moccasin insurance tallies coming at 7:26, 11-9, and 6:17, 12-9. As a result, Markey's concluding was rendered futile in a 12-10 final.
Sophomore midfielder Lucas Claude (Calgary, Alberta) came off the Moccasin bench to lead Florida Southern College with four goals, an assist, and two ground balls. Three others combined for the other eight tallies while senior midfielder Tyler Novak (Holbrook, N.Y.) captained their defensive effort with three ground balls and two caused turnovers. In goal, junior Matt Lalli (New Milford, Conn.) made 14 saves and collected a ground ball for the win (5-2).

The Chestnut Hill College men's lacrosse team now returns home to open their East Coast Conference (ECC) schedule on Sunday, March 6, with a 1:00 p.m. home-opener versus Molloy College.
