Jaeda Wildgoose (Somerset, N.J.) was the lead Griffin, scoring all 12 (12-of-12, 1.000) of her free throw attempts in an 18-point performance that included seven rebounds, an assist, and two steals.
The University of New Haven (4-6) owned a 10-point, 13-3 (5:16), advantage over Chestnut Hill College (6-6) midway through the opening quarter. A concerted effort to the offensive glass kept the home team ahead by nine points, 19-10, at the end of the first quarter and 17 points, 41-24, at halftime. After the break, the Charger lead reached as many as 26 points, 52-26 (5:16, 3QTR) and wavered to a 14-point, 61-47 (6:49 3QTR) minimum in an eventual 23-point discrepancy.
Junior center Katia Oge (New City, N.Y.) led the University of New Haven (UNH) with 16 points, 18 rebounds, an assist, two blocks, and four steals. Two other Chargers joined her in double figures; sophomore forward Micah Womack (Cumberland, Md.) matched her point total (16 points) while offering an assist, two blocks, and four steals, and junior guard Alexandria Kerr (Montclair, N.J.) finished with 14 points in excess of five rebounds, an assist, and two steals.
Wildgoose headlined a 24-of-26 (.923) free throw performance that kept Chestnut Hill College competitive. She was supported by senior guard
Vicky Tumasz (North Wales, Pa.), who finished the affair with 13 points, a rebound, and two steals.
Chestnut Hill College resumes their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) schedule on Wednesday, December 19, when they host Holy Family University in a 6:00 p.m. contest.
