Box Score Philadelphia, Pa. - (12/5/2017) – Tonight's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Military Appreciation Game at Jefferson University began with a court-sized flag unfurling, before a clutch layup from junior guard Mary Trossi (Somerset, N.J.), a saving free throw from freshman guard Cassie Sebold (Willow Grove, Pa.), and an unfortunate one-sided overtime period that pushed the final score in the home team's favor, 81-71. Chestnut Hill College led the Lady Rams at the first quarter, 19-14, and halftime, 31-27, breaks, but ties at the end of the third quarter, 50-50, and regulation, 67-67, forced an extra frame. There, the home team held the Griffins to a layup and a couple of fleeting free throws in an eventual 10-point discrepancy.

Junior forward Jaeda Wildgoose (Somerset, N.J.) controlled the first-half glass to open scoring opportunities for senior guard Vicky Tumasz (North Wales, Pa.) (10 points) and sophomore forward Shannon Glenn (Philadelphia, Pa.) (8 points). The pair hit all three (3-of-9, .333) of the Griffins' long range chances (3-of-15, .200) and went 7-of-18 (.389) from the floor in a 34.3% (12-of-35) Chestnut Hill College (4-3, 1-0) shooting performance that was enough to overshadow Jefferson University (8-1, 2-0) in the opening 20 minutes, 31-27.

In the third quarter, the Griffins led by as many as nine points, 39-30 (7:17), on a Wildgoose bucket, before the Lady Rams rallied to tie the frame twice; initially at 44-44 (3:52) and in conclusion at 50-50 (0:05). Chestnut Hill College led early in fourth quarter as well, but needed the heroic play of Trossi and Sebold to buy them an extra frame against Jefferson University. Wildgoose found Trossi for her late dash to the lane with just 11 seconds (0:11, 67-66) remaining and Sebold hit the second of two free throws with only three ticks (0:03) left.

The Lady Rams scored first in overtime, 69-67 (4:16), and Wildgoose provided the Griffins initial answer, 69-69 (3:54). Unfortunately, the Scarlet and Gold was not able to continue to match Jefferson University, who gradually pulled away in an 81-71 spread.

Freshman guard Caitlyn Cunningham (Dresher, Pa.) came off the Jefferson University bench for a game-high 24 points. She also recorded seven rebounds, two assists and four steals. Junior guard Jessica Kaminski (Philadelphia, Pa.) supported with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Sophomore guard Alynna Williams (Ambler, Pa.) and freshman forward Sabria Lytes (Philadelphia, Pa.) helped her on the boards with 10 apiece.

Tumasz led Chestnut Hill College with 19 points, but an 18-point and 17-rebound Wildgoose double-double was the driving force behind the Scarlet and Gold. Tumasz added six rebounds, one assist, and a block to her scoring, while Wildgoose provided an additional two assists, four blocks, and a steal. Glenn contributed 11 points, two rebounds, four assists, and a steal.

The Chestnut Hill College women's basketball team continues their CACC schedule on Saturday, December 9, when they visit the University of the Sciences (USciences) for a 1:00 p.m. contest.
