Carson Rees (Port Coquitlam, British Columbia) did the Lions in; Dooley tied the Chestnut Hill College single-game scoring record with his six goals.
Chestnut Hill College (8-4, 6-2) opened the scoring with two unassisted Dooley goals (13:13 and 11:50). Molloy College (9-5, 4-4) evened the contest, 2-2, by the nine-minute mark (9:00) of the first quarter. Rees briefly gave the Griffins a 3-2 lead at 5:28 and after a trade of tallies the contest went to the second frame with the Scarlet and Gold up 4-3. The separation came in the second frame, where Dooley (5-3 at 14:12), Rees (6-3 at 11:27), junior midfielder
Joshua Pope (Schnecksville, Pa.) (7-4 at 3:08), and Fisher netted the goals necessary for an 8-4 halftime lead.
After intermission it was all Scarlet and Gold as five third-quarter goals, 13-4, and a 3-3 fourth quarter accounted for the final nine goal deficit, 16-7. Fisher scored twice in the second half and Dooley three times.
Molloy College offered three players with two goals apiece. Senior midfielder Jon Camposa (Syosset, N.Y.) feed them with three assists. Senior midfielder Frank Sciulla (Rocky Point, N.Y.) won 18-of-26 (.692) face-offs and recovered nine ground balls. Junior guard Ryan Toomey (Hicksville, N.Y.) (9-5) played the first three frames in goal for the Lions. He made five saves and recovered two ground balls.
Fisher and Rees report four goals apiece, complimenting Dooley's performance. Fisher added an assist and Rees a ground ball. Junior attack
Dylan Klusaritz (Slatington, Pa.) fueled the Scarlet and Gold offense with a goal, three assists, and a ground ball. Senior goalkeeper
Thomas McDermott (Ridley, Pa.) (8-4) totaled 16 saves in the victory.
Chestnut Hill College will serve as the #3 seed in the upcoming ECC Men's Lacrosse Championship and therefore will travel to #2 Mercy College on Wednesday, May 3, for a 3:00 p.m. semifinal contest.
